The time we spent at Residencial Altiplano was the highlight of our trip to Bolivia. Martin and Luisa made us feel right at home in their beautifully furnished home. They provided us with excellent advice on seeing Tarija. I would give Altiplano my highest recommendation. If you're going to visit Tarija, definitely stay with Martin and Luisa. What's not to like about this place? My wife and I stayed here for a couple of weeks.  Comfortable bed, great views, and nice little touches like fresh bottled water and a little chocolate for us. Martin and Louise were very helpful. The location was great.  Every morning we had a nice continental breakfast with lovely plunger coffee, fresh 'cuernos'  and fresh fruit. My daughter and I would highly recommend it to all travellers. Hosts Louise and Martin went beyond expectations to help us with international transportation into Tarija, offered valuable information on how to get around, where to eat and what do to while in Tarija. Residential Altiplano is a gem within Tarija. From this retreat you can enjoy an amazing view from the nearby rooftops to the distant mountains surrounding this picturesque city. The room I stayed in was charming, spacious and very comfortable.  Martin and Luisa have a great love and knowledge of this city and cant help but share their enthusiasm for it. I found Martin very professional to deal with. He and his wife, Luisa, run the school out of their very large apartment with one room dedicated as a classroom. What I appreciated about the school was their flexibility to accommodate our schedule and their attention to detail. One teacher in particular, Noemi, was excellent. We enjoyed our Spanish lessons organised by Altiplano. We each had personal lessons with local Spanish speakers. Our teachers used a variety of methods which kept the lessons interesting as well as instructive. They gave special attention to our weak areas, such as pronunciation and tenses.
